This last week has certainly been a roller coaster!! Normally I love roller coasters, but not particularly the emotional kind. It started with my daughter’s announcement that I’m pretty sure I mentioned in the last post and ended with spending the day yesterday at my uncle’s funeral. Throw a little baseball and some painting in there, and it was one heck of a week. I also have another uncle who is not doing well and will probably not be with us much longer. My dad had 3 brothers and 1 sister. My dad passed away almost 4 years ago, my aunt 2 years ago, and now another. I absolutely think that the hardest part about getting older is losing loved ones and watching them get older, realizing they won’t be here forever.

I guess part of the reason I scrapbook is to remember the good, happy times and divert my attention from the hard times. One of these days, I need to go to my mom’s and gather all the older photos…start preserving those memories. This week I scrapped some older photos and some newer ones. I love going back and picking out memories from when my children were younger, remembering and retelling those stories.

I hope that you all are having a wonderfully blessed day! It’s been pretty quiet around here today. We had Easter dinner yesterday when most of the kiddos could be here. We were only missing my sweet daughter-in-law, who had to work. The life of EMS. It was great having everyone here and the weather was fantastic. The kids were able to hunt eggs and play outside most of the time. My daughter surprised me with an Easter basket and inside was a photo of my new grand baby…coming in October!! Exciting!! She will be a good mommy 🙂

I haven’t take much scrapping time this weekend. I’ve been doing some painting around the house with the little bit of spring break we get. Tomorrow is the last day and we will be spending it out looking for baseball cleats. I might try to squeeze some in tonight or tomorrow night.

Well, this week started off fantastic. The temperatures were close to 80 every day and it was just beautiful. Then BAM, today it is in the 40’s and supposed to be the same for tomorrow with the possibility of some snow. I am not happy about that. Fortunately, by mid week it’s supposed to be back to the 70’s, so I guess I will survive.

I’ve been working on getting my PL all up to date and just have this week to go, but I thought I’d come by and share some of the fabulous new releases while they are still on sale! My designers out-do themselves week after week!!

And don’t forget to check out the Retirement Sale at The Lilypad. There’s some awesome stuff that is going, going, gone!

Those are some gorgeous kits right there! I had intended to do some playing around in my planner this weekend, but I left it at work!! I didn’t realize how attached to it I had become! I bet I don’t forget it again!!

Wow, has this ever been a busy week! My mom’s 78th birthday was on Wednesday, so Monday and Tuesday were spent in prep. We took her out to eat at Applebee’s and then went back to her house for cupcakes. Thursday and Friday were spent in prep for my husband’s birthday today. We took him out to eat at our favorite little Italian place. I wanted to go there mostly so that I could make a stop at Staple’s (shhhh don’t tell him). But much to my disappointment, our local Staple’s has closed! What is an office supply geek like myself supposed to do now? *sniff*

I love Sundays! There is something about them that is so relaxing and peaceful. I sometimes think that maybe we should go out and do something, but our weeks are so crazy and hectic during the school year that I really enjoy just having a day of down time…a little time to just recharge the batteries. And it’s the one day of the week that I can scrap pretty much whenever I want to and make sure I’m caught up on everything before the new week starts.

If you haven’t been in the digi shops this weekend, there’s some awesome stuff out there!! Here’s a few of the things that I got to work with this week…all are amazing!!
