New Year, New Projects

Where did January go? Oh yeah, it was busy! I participated in the Month of Challenges at The Lilypad and finished for my 10th straight year. It was so fun and helps a dark dreary month fly by! If your interested, you can check out all my pages for that here – MOC 2023. In addition to that, my kiddo started his last year of MACC. It’s an academic competition team that he is part of. He is on the Social Studies and All-Around teams, and we are hoping for big things this year!!

Now that MOC is behind me, I’ve finally been able to get started on my PL series for this year! I’m using Scrapping with Liz’s Simple Life Templates, modified to an 8.5×11 size, along with Sahlin Studio’s Weekly Cards and Memory Pockets Monthly at The Lilypad. I’ll be adding all of them to my Project Life Section, but here are my first few pages:

I’ll be back soon to share more! Hope you have a great week ahead!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I kind of fell off the wagon for a little while, December was kind of a mess of good, bad and busy! My mom was sick for a little while and it was pretty scary. She is on the mend now, but we’re still keeping a watchful eye. Then, on December 5, my newest granddaughter made her entrance in to the world, 3 1/2 weeks early. She is doing great and so precious.

Christmas became a little bit of a crunch but, once break rolled around, I was feeling pretty good about things and getting in the spirit. Then, bam, Christmas Eve at 3am we lost power with temperatures below 0 and -30 wind chills. We don’t lose power here very often, so I figured it would be up and running pretty quick. Was I ever wrong. We ended up without power for 36 hours. All we had was a little space heater to hover over, lots of blankets, and a bunch of rousing games of Trivial Pursuit. We spent Christmas Day opening gifts and trying to stay warm. Chance and I finally left around noon on Sunday to take a shower and cook some food at my mom’s. Then we went to visit the new baby. The power came back while we were gone, but it took a good bit before the house was warm again.

So, that’s where I’ve been. Plus the fact that the internet was out for a couple of days after the power came back. I did manage to get caught up with PL pages and DYD pages. I have those updated for the most part.

Now here we are! I’m mainly dropping by today to share a couple of things I’ve managed to get done in the last few days.

Rachel Jefferies is now a part of Memory Pockets Monthly at The Lilypad and I am so excited for what she brings to this collection! Here is a layout I created using the main kit and her add-ons!

I don’t think I touched my planner at all in 2022, but I am determined to change that in 2023. Here is my first page for January!

And so here we are. Let’s see how I do with keeping up with all of this! Only time will tell 🙂
I hope that you all have a fabulous and safe New Years weekend!!

Saturday Shenanigans

I hope that everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and, if you participate, a successful Black Friday!! I didn’t do much shopping because I tend to get overwhelmed with all the things, but I do hope to look around a bit over the next couple of days.

I thought I’d take a minute today to share some new releases for this weekend! There are lots of scrapping Black Friday sales going on and it’s a great time to stock up!!

Here are some pages that I worked on this week!

Hope the rest of your weekend is simply amazing!!

Tap, tap, tap…Hello

Holy cow! I won’t even tell you how many times I have said that I am going to get back on this blogging thing. We’ll just call 2021 and most of 2022 a wash! Life has truly been up and down, and you know what they say about good intentions!!

I have updated my PL pages through last week, so if you want to do any catch up on what’s been going on, most everything is there. I also added 2020 and 2021 DYD if you’d like to check it out. I’ll be adding all the credits as time allows.

I’ve still been scrapping away, although not as much as previous years. I’m going to do my best to update here with new pages going forward. I would really love to be back in this space on a regular basis, so wish me luck!!

Let’s Pretend…

Let’s pretend that it hasn’t been 2 months since I was here! Or at least I will pretend that it hasn’t been haha! It’s been a wild and crazy couple of months as well as being a couple of months where every day seems the same. I’m sure that some of you all can relate. It’s the time we are in and what we are all going through right now. I can tell you that teaching online is not something I hope to continue, but I feel sure that it will be  a part of our future in some way, shape, or form. And I have a feeling that my summer will not be as full of the typical relaxing times as we prepare for what the future will hold.

I’m keeping up with my scrapping and will get back to sharing those pages this weekend. I am up to date with my weekly spreads as well and am going to update that page. I hope to start sharing some other things as well. I am going to dive in to my planner again and work on getting myself on some sort of schedule. The world may have gone a little crazy, and probably I have as well, but I would love to be a more regular poster and share the things I love and enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back to update soon!!

Still plugging along…

Happy Thursday!! I am so looking forward to the weekend and being able to take a step back for a couple of days. I feel like work is so much more overwhelming doing it from home. Trying to figure out lessons to do online and how to make it work for those who don’t have access to the internet, as well as trying to contact everyone is no easy task. I am working hard to make myself turn off work things at a certain time every day, but sometimes that is easier said than done.

But, I have been able to catch back up with Project Life. I’m not taking many photos myself right now because we are just inside these four walls most of the time, but fortunately the kiddos are sending me lots. I sure miss seeing those babies in person!

All of my layouts are using Stories of Life Templates by Scrapping with Liz and Just Jaimee’s Storyteller and Real Life in Pockets lines. The date titles are Week Dates 2020 by Sabrina’s Creations.

Whew, I was a little behind posting these, huh? I do a little better at keeping up with Instagram, so feel free to follow me there! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

Ummmm, Yeah….

Wow, it’s been awhile and wow, how the world has changed since I was here last. So much going on, but so little at the same time. I am trying to document what I can, but honestly other than the world events, not much is going on here at all. They closed our schools for two weeks on March 13, and then on March 23 decided that schools would be closed for the rest of the school year. I am doing my best to provide lessons to my students online, but it’s not so easy when many of them do not have internet at home. Chance is keeping up with his assignments, but really not liking online learning at all. We both would love to be back in school. It’s a crazy time. Everything but essential businesses are closed. Going to the grocery store is scary. I am just looking forward to the day when things start to get back to normal, or at least somewhat normal.

As far as scrapping goes, I have had a little difficulty being able to focus on scrapping much, but I am getting a few layouts done here and there. For this week I was able to work with some seriously gorgeous kits:

Let’s get the party started…

It’s a little late, but it’s time to get Project Life 2020 underway. I had to wait a bit and finally finish up 2019 before I got started. If your interested in checking out the rest of those pages, you can find them under Project Life 2019 at the top of the page. In planning 2020, I knew I wanted to do something a bit different and something a bit more simple. I chose some amazing new templates by Scrapping with Liz – Stories of Life. They are just perfect for the vision of the new year that I have.

I thought I’d drop by here and share the first three weeks. In addition to Liz’s templates, I am using Just Jaimee’s Storyteller line, and Week Dates by Sabrina’s Creations.

I am loving the way it is going so far!! Can’t wait to move on for the rest of the year! Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fabulous week!! Peace, out…

Life Happens…

Man oh man, I have had the best intentions to do so many things with this space, but there has sure been a lot working against me lately. School started, I took a job doing homebound after school, Thanksgiving, Christmas. It’s just been one thing after another. I am hoping to come up with a regular blogging schedule in the next couple of days and do my best to stick to it. But for now, I wanted to come by and share a few layouts!

If you don’t know, the Month of Challenges is going on at The Lilypad. It is a challenge a day, every day, for the month of January. I love it. It keeps me occupied during a time of the year that usually really gets me down. There are so many fabulous challenges that stretch creativity. So many of my favorite layouts come from this time of year! If you haven’t, you should check it out!

Here are my layouts so far, all are linked to my gallery at TLP for credit:

Documenting December 2019…

I’ve been documenting my December since 2012. That means that this year will be my 8th doing some form of December Daily. It is absolutely my favorite project of the whole year. It’s so fun and it keeps me occupied on the long cold winter days. Not everything I document is Christmas related, a lot of it is just our day to day. I like to just choose a photo that represents our day.

I made slideshows of some of my previous December projects, or  you can check them out in the December Daily section at the top of my page.

In 2014, I used Valorie Wibbens templates and created a more pocket style album:

In 2016, I went with a more traditional scrapping style:

In 2017, I used different Journalers by Valorie Wibbens to create my foundations:

And last year, I used Soco’s amazing 6×8 templates

So while the size has stayed the same, I have been able to switch up the style a bit every year and I love them all.

This year, I will be using Designed by Soco’s fabulous December Memories 2019 6×8 Album and Kits by Pink Reptile Designs, Allison Pennington, and Rachel Jefferies. All the supplies I’m using can be found in the Document Your December section of The Lilypad Store. Here are my first few foundation pages:

Example-1Example-2Example-3Example-4Example-5

I may end up changing our cards or altering things a little, but I pretty much just have to plop in photos and journaling and I am good to go. Having these foundation pages helps more than anything to make sure I get this project done!

Do you document  your December? Are your plans for this year underway?

I’ll be back to share more foundations pages as well as the day to day once December starts! Hope you all have an amazing rest of your week! Until next time, peace, out….
