Holy Cow…

Yeah, so it’s been a couple of weeks and yeah, same ole busy, busy, busy. I am taking a class this semester and, every little bit of weekend time that I’ve had, I’ve spent working on stuff for the class. It’s interesting stuff, if you like classes on teaching methods, but between that and the usual spring IEP, paperwork, testing, etc, I don’t have much “free” time. We have a 4 day weekend going on right now. That is the extent of our “Spring Break”. I am so envious of those who get a whole week off, but we are on the countdown to the end of the year! I’m also tackling a pretty big project in my time off…painting all my kitchen cabinets. They’ve needed an update for a long time. I got about half way through yesterday and will probably get the other half tomorrow. Today, we are going to color eggs and go to mom’s for dinner.

We got C all signed up for baseball a couple of weeks ago and he had try outs last week. We heard from the manager of the team yesterday and he will get to be #45 (Michael Jordan’s baseball number). Their team is the Giants and we have our meet and greet on Tuesday evening.

I haven’t had a chance to see it in person yet, but M now has a house of her own! I have informed her that she now must come and get all of her stuff haha. I’m dreaming of a craft room! But all of that will probably have to wait until summer, when I have the time to do it.

I have managed to get in some scrapping the last couple of weeks, and pretty much keep up with my weekly spreads. I’ve updated both galleries, but here are some of the pages I’ve managed to squeeze in…

One of “those” weeks

You know, the really really busy ones! Monday was mom’s 77th birthday so we headed over to her house with cake and presents to celebrate. We ended up staying a bit longer than planned while I set her up a Facebook account. Yikes! I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing…time will tell I guess! She had been telling me about some of her old friends hounding her about getting on Facebook and then said “If I don’t hurry up, all my friends will be dead!” hahaha. Oh, mom.

Tuesday was C’s last basketball game. We were hoping it wouldn’t be, but they ended up losing by one point in yet another really poorly officiated game, but I digress. So, I spent Wednesday catching up on everything that didn’t get done Monday and Tuesday.

Thursday was Randy’s 45th, so more cake and present getting happened. I got him the set of headlight covers that he wanted for “Cammie” (his Camaro).  And Friday, he spent the evening with her, while I did NOTHING, thankfully!

And so now here we are. I didn’t even get much scrapping done last week and I am a couple weeks behind on my Life in Pockets pages. Hoping to get caught up on those week as I am anticipating fabulous new goodies to play with!

Still there some great new releases this week!

It’s a Great Day

What an awesome day! This has to be one of my most favorite days of the whole year…Daylight Savings Time! I love the extra daylight in the evening. I just have so much more energy when I have more sunlight in my life. I get so lethargic once the sun goes down, and when that happens right after I get home from work, it’s really rather depressing.

But I didn’t really come back today to sing the praises of DST, I wanted to share my newest Life in Pockets pages. I am keeping up fairly well so far. I still have this past week to do, but hopefully I’ll get that done later today. C has basketball practice and I have to shop for my mother’s birthday, but other than that I don’t have much else to do. Thankfully, my morning does not involve shoveling or chipping ice!!

For Week 9, I used all things Valorie Wibbens – For Like Ever Papers, For Like Ever Journal Cards, and Sprinkles V33…all at The Lilypad.

Well…

I’m not really sure where the last few days went, other than we did finally get back to work for 3 days and then off another 2. I am over winter. Fortunately, it does look like the next week or more will be beautiful and no temps below freezing! I also love, love, love the time change! I really do think about this blog every day and say I’m coming to post something and then one thing leads to another and I piddle around and don’t do it. But anyway, I’m here now and wanted to share a few new things for this week!

The Best of Intentions…

So I did plan to come back here a few days ago and share some more wonderful things, but I’m telling you, this weather and time off work have really gotten to me. I have no motivation to do anything. I keep thinking of all the things I could have had done around here with all this time off, and yet I have done nothing. Well, I have cooked, eaten, and washed dishes repeatedly…but nothing extra. I’m not going to spend any more time whining about it. There’s nothing I can do about it, I just wish I could make myself enjoy it a bit more. That hasn’t happened. C is ready to go back to school as well. He keeps saying that he is getting more brain damaged every day. I guess even more so than 9 year olds already are hahaha.

Cabin Fever!!

Oh has it ever set in. I love my family, truly I do. But after a week of being trapped in the house with them, it’s a wonder we are all still alive! I know I’ve mentioned that we have gotten off pretty easy in the weather department this winter, but Mother Nature decided that it was time for us to pay! It started snowing last Saturday and we got a little and then all hell broke loose. We have been out of school all week because of a combination of more snow and below 0 temperatures. I am seriously going stir crazy. This is definitely the time of year that I wish I lived in town and not on these hilly, windy, privately maintained roads. I have only ventured out the front door to shovel. And not only that, but I have been a total sloth inside the house. I just have no motivation to do anything. I feel like I have spent the last week doing nothing but cooking, eating, and washing dishes.  Ok…I’ll stop complaining now. They were calling for up to 12 more inches tomorrow, but have backed off to a more mix type thing, changing to rain. Thank GOD! I so feel for all of the people in states where they are dealing with much worse than we are.

We’ll move on to some scrappy things! I have done a little of that this week, so I will share some of the fabulous stuff you can find in the shops and on sale this weekend.

Yikes!

And I say that for a couple of different reasons! We have had very little snow this year, compared to most, but today we are getting pounded. Eight inches or so since this morning with more coming until sometime over night. I was really hoping we’d get off easy this winter and I guess overall we have, but I’m not liking this one little bit. Yes, I am a teacher that doesn’t really like snow days. Sure, days off are nice every now and then. But I would rather take a day off and go do something fun than be trapped in my house, having to get out in the cold and shovel. Call me crazy, but I don’t really consider that fun.

The other reason for my “yikes” is the fact that I haven’t been by here in over a week. I was doing so much better at keeping up. Oh well, I’m here now to play a little catch up with layouts and PL. I have a ton of layouts that I didn’t get uploaded last week and a couple of weeks’ worth of PL. I’m not going to make this post uber long by adding them all here. I will add them to their pages and be done with it for this week. I hope you take time to check them out because these designers out do themselves week after week. I’m also guesting this month for Two Tiny Turtles and am so excited about that. Her templates are simply amazing and you’ll find them in quite a few of the layouts I’ve done in the last couple of weeks. Traci Reed has also released her Pocket Life Collection for February and it is awesome!!

I’m going to get these things uploaded and then watch it snow some more! Hope everyone has a great week! Peace, out!

Simple Saturday

Heck yeah, let’s get this weekend started! The weather is supposed to be beautiful and I have a wrecked house that needs my attention. Ok, so part of that is a good thing. No basketball games today, but we do have to show up for pictures later today. I just wanted to swing by and make sure I share all the fabulous things going on over at Simple Scrapper.
