I Want Less…

I absolutely adore Sara Gleason of Plant Your Story. Her designs are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen and she is a true story teller! She also believes that each and every one of us has a story to tell, and one that is worth telling. She is such a wonderful source of inspiration!!

She is currently doing daily prompts on her Facebook Page and her Instagram that I have been following and that I have decided might be a good jumping off point to get me writing on this blog more regularly!

Today’s prompt is I want less…. I don’t really need to follow that up with anything! I just want less…mostly stuff! It’s getting to be the time of year when my home really starts to get on my nerves. I need to clean and clean out. Closets are jam packed, cabinets and drawers are an absolute mess, and everything seems to be weighing down on me. I am in need of some serious declutter time. I usually wait until summer, but this year, I just have an overwhelming need to start tackling things.

I have also been following Landeelu on Instagram and I adore her decluttering and organizational strategies. She even has an Email Series on decluttering, as well as a Facebook Group – Clear the Clutter and Breathe. It has all been really inspirational for me and I’m hoping that I find some time soon to tackle at least one small project!!

When I first read this prompt, I was thinking I needed something deep or philosophical, but nope, not this time. I just need less stuff. That’s what’s on my mind most of all. Maybe I will even document my progress, we’ll see.

Moving right along…

Not so much here, but in life I guess I’m moving right along. I’m taking a class this semester on Google Classroom and Google Suite, so any and all spare time I have had has been spent on that. My new year plan for posting more regularly has kind of fallen by the wayside for right now. Maybe I need to stop thinking and planning and just do.

Anyway, I thought I’d stop by before bed time tonight and share a couple of new pages for this week.

Catching up…

Rabbit Holes…

Ever get sucked down them? I sure do! Just about every time I sit down at the computer to do one thing, I’m off on adventures looking up a thousand different things! And that’s why I never seem to get here like I intend to! I swear, I can be going to upload a layout and next thing I know I’m looking at phone cases or reading about missing people or any other random things, but I never remember how I got there haha.

But anyway, I just wanted to pop in tonight and share some amazing new releases out this weekend and get caught up on posting my MOC layouts!

Too Much Time…

We’ve had a couple of snow days this week, and while surprise days off are nice, I am just not productive when it is cold at all. I don’t want to do anything except be huddled under a blanket. I’m still working on getting my organization for the new year together, but not have much luck as of yet. I will blame part of it on the madness that is MOC! So much going on and that is where I spend the majority of my time. I do love it though and that’s the main reason I’m stopping by tonight. Simply Saturday…

I absolutely love Saturdays! There is something so calm and peaceful about them…no rushing around, no stress. Even time to come here and blog!

I have never been one to do much with a “one little word” for the year. I mean, I usually start the year thinking about something I would like to focus on, but I’ve never taken it much farther than that. This year, I decided that I really need to not only choose a word, but really focus on what it means in my life. Over the Christmas Break, I was watching some Instagram stories from people I follow and they were talking a lot about a #lighttheworld campaign. It really made me stop and think and ultimately led to me choosing Light as my word for this year. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense to me in several different ways. I’m going to spend some time jotting down all the ways that light impacts my life and my hope is to blog regularly about how I am focusing on light in my life.

To start things off, I created this page for River~Rose Designs this week, who created an amazingly perfect kit!! It’s called Be A Light:

Among the things that I have had in my thoughts regarding light are ways in which I can lighten up in my life. Being a part of Simple Scrapper has helped me focus on some of those ways as far as my scrapbooking goes, and in other areas! Happy Friday!!

I’m sitting here listening to it rain, not freezing for a change, and dreading the cold that is coming in later tonight. Such is winter I guess. It was so nice today. Temperatures got up in to the 60’s and even though it was raining, it was wonderful after the long cold spell we had. I just keep telling myself that it’s kind of like childbirth (not quite as painful, but almost), it won’t last forever…every day that goes by is one day closer to spring!

Friday, y’all…

It’s Friday!! Of course it hasn’t been much of a work week for me! We went to school on Wednesday on a 2 hour delay, and have been off ever since due to the extreme cold. Most of that time for me has been spent babysitting my water pipes that like to freeze up when it gets too cold. My poor hairdryer is worn out! I think I am really craving routine though. I’m having a tough time structuring my day and spend too much time getting lost in rabbit holes online.

New Year…

Wow, I didn’t actually realize how long it had been since I posted here. I honestly think the whole month of December was a blur! I have thought about it quite a bit, just never made the commitment to sit down and post. I’ve spent the last day or so reorganizing everything, creating new pages for the new year and coming up with ideas to get me posting here more often. We’ll see if it sticks!

I finished up my Life in Pockets for 2017 and you can see it all HERE. Well, all but one week I am finishing up. I’m not sure why I got stuck on that week, but I’ll insert it when it’s done. I also started my Life in Pockets for 2018. I have the cover done and will start on pages next weekend. I’m excited for a new year.

I also started and finished Document Your December for 2017 and you can see that HERE. I only went through the 25th because honestly we haven’t done a whole lot since then.

I’m not going back and add all the layouts I’ve done in December. I’m just far too lazy. But I hope to keep up better from now on. I plan to add the blog to my list of layout upload places and that should make it easier :).

And time goes by…

Time goes by a whole lot quicker than I think it does sometimes. I hope that Thanksgiving was a blessed one for all those who celebrated. We went to my mom’s for dinner on Wednesday and then had a quiet dinner of leftovers here on Thursday. We took the time to get the Christmas decorations up and the house looking festive! I am really tickled with all the scrapping I got done this past week as well. If you haven’t seen the amazing Black Friday deals going on you really need to check them out!!
