Another…

This has really been a rough couple of weeks for my family. I mentioned in my post last week that we just attended the funeral for one of my uncles, and then on Monday we got the news that another of my uncles had passed away. We’ll be attending his funeral tomorrow. They both led long full lives, but it is still so hard to let go and say good-bye. I have no doubt that those two and my dad are filling Heaven with some serious laughter!! Oh my, the stories those boys could tell. All of us could sit and listen to them for hours! I need to take some time at some point to tell some of their stories.

I guess that goes back again to why I take time to scrapbook. To tell the stories, even if it is only with pictures sometimes. I’m not the best journaler, but I am trying! I am thankful to find a little down time tonight to come by and share new layouts with my designers amazing new products for this week!

Ahhh Saturday!

And I am spending it sick! Of course, the first weekend I have free in months and I feel like crap. I hadn’t really planned on doing anything anyway, but not feeling like doing anything is different somehow. Basketball ended last Monday, and C’s team won 1st place in the tournament! Now we have about a month off until baseball starts up and we are on the road again!

Another week, another month, gone by…

Yes, there’s still one more day in February this year, but basically it’s the end, right? I’m done with it and ready for the month that brings Spring and Daylight Savings Time! Bring on March!! We had fabulous 65 degree weather today and it’s supposed to be nice for the next couple of days before turning cold again. But at least I know the cold days are numbered now.

I’m afraid I am going to miss most of it. My son’s basketball team plays for the championship tomorrow night. It’s a double elimination tournament and we haven’t lost yet. Happy Valentine’s Day

We don’t do much to celebrate around here. I usually pick up a little candy for the kids and that’s about it. I’ve never been a big fan. I guess it’s fun for some and can be a special day, but it seems kind of forced to me. I don’t like cut flowers from the florist and my husband knows that if he comes home with them, I will probably fuss about the waste of money hahaha. To me, it is more special to get a rose from the convenience store on a random Tuesday than a dozen on a day you are “supposed” to do it. But I digress. I didn’t come here today to dump on Valentine’s Day. If you love it, celebrate it…if you don’t, celebrate something else about today.

Simply Monday

And a snowy one here. I am totally ready for winter to be over and spring to make it’s appearance. But I guess it will happen in its own time. We had a one hour early release today because of some impending weather. It’s supposed to snow on and off for the next few days. Right now, they have us on a delay for tomorrow. I guess we’ll see what the overnight brings.

Short and Sweet

We did finally go back to work/school on Thursday. They eased us in with a couple of two hour delays! It was a nice little break, but I don’t much like not being able to go anywhere and spending most of my time off shoveling.

I’ve done quite a bit of scrapping during MOC at The Lilypad. The last challenge is tomorrow and if I get it done in the morning I will come back and share all the pages I did for that. I’m excited that I was able to finish again for the third year. It’s so much fun and some of my favorite pages come out of it.

Happy New Year!!

Hope your 2016 is starting off wonderfully!! I’ve been spending the last couple of day cleaning up my computer and files and getting ready for a brand new year. My goal is to take more photos this year. I’ve not taken many at all lately and I want to change that. It’s something I really love. And like every other year, one of my goals is to be more organized. I think I did much better at it in 2015, but hope to get even better in 2016. One of the ways I’m hoping to do that is by using a planner. I’ve tried different ones at different points in my life, but I’m loving the new one I got and having a ball getting it all prettied up and ready for the new year. But I’ll go more in to that later. Happy Saturday!!

And the Saturday before Christmas at that. Wow! I am almost ready. I have had a few things to do for a couple of weeks now and keep putting them off or other things get in the way. Now I am feeling crunch time. I have a couple of gifts to wrap, a couple to make, and some candy to do and I will be officially finished. I am hoping to accomplish most, if not all, of it tomorrow! Then my plan is to clean house on Monday and be ready for the holiday 🙂
