Wow. I really thought that summer would bring me here a little more often, but that hasn’t been the case. I spent the first week of vacation cleaning out cabinets and closets and doing a few other things that needed done around the house. Since then, I’ve been babysitting for my grandson most every day, and when I’m not I’m catching up on laundry and cleaning. I swear I think summer break goes by faster and faster every year.

I thought I would drop by this evening and share a couple of new releases with you and then hopefully get back on a schedule again!

So, I’m not sure where the last week has gone. I did some babysitting for grandchildren and spent the rest of the time getting ready for C’s birthday on Thursday. We had to order the cake and make dinner arrangements. We let him open a couple of gifts early because of R’s work schedule and  not making him wait until late at night to get his gifts. He’s basically all set up with a gaming studio in his room now and I’m not sure he’ll ever come out haha. Hard to believe that my baby is a teenager! We all went out to dinner at the Japanese Steakhouse on his actual birthday. I love it when we can all get together like that.

This weekend, I’ve been getting the house as clean as possible so that I don’t have stuff hanging over my head for the week. I also got a new washing machine!! Yay!! I’ve been washing clothes by hand since mine went out and it’s been no fun! I am a terrible pioneer woman! They are delivering it on Thursday and I am so excited!!

I’ve also been cleaning out some drawers and cabinets again this week. I’ve started following Nesting with Grace and she is so inspiring!! She has a small home like mine and I am trying to take bits and pieces from her style as I can. I wish I could afford to just totally redo everything, but I figure if I can do one little thing at a time, then I’m making progress. Anyway, she has an organizing challenge going on and even created a printable. It’s in her post on the Organized and Well Nested Home, and it has been so helpful!! I also follow her on Instagram @nestingwithgrace and love her feed and stories so much! I can’t wait to explore her site some more!

And now on to all that’s new in the scrappy world. I am still seriously behind on Project Life, but hope to be caught up with that in the next few days if all goes my way. Here are the pages that I did with new releases this week. You might still catch them on sale if you hurry!!

Whew! What a week it’s been. I have barely come up for air. That darn Murphy and his law have been all up in my business this week. Thursday was the worst! Let me give you just a little run down.

I had an IEP meeting scheduled with a parent and a LOT of other team members at 8am, so I needed to leave my house a bit early in order to get the room and computer set up so that we’d be ready to go. No problem, out of the house at 7:55..go me!

But, we had a bit of snow the night before and as I made the turn on to the road out of our subdivision I see ahead of me, traffic at a dead stop. There must have been a wreck in the curves down the hill.

After sitting for a few minutes, I start texting a co-worker who was coming to my meeting asking if she would please start it for me because it didn’t look like I was going to make it.

About that time, the gas light in my car comes on.

Then, I remember that I needed to send a check to school with C for his upcoming school trip and I have no checks in my purse. Cue frantic note writing.

After 40 minutes of sitting, we are moving, sliding most of the way to the main road.

Gas station stop first. I pull up to the pump and it’s not taking cards. I drive to the next pump and have to swipe my card 8000 times before it goes through.

I will say that my meeting went really well and I always appreciate that. Most of the rest of the school day went fairly smoothly until…

After school, C didn’t come to my classroom like he usually does. I go check the main building to see if maybe he’s over there hanging out with a friend…nope. I text him, no answer. I call the school to see if he’s missed the bus and they tell me that they didn’t have a driver on time and the bus just left the school…20 minutes late.

I hope to not have a day like that one for awhile, but the rest of the week was still pretty crazy!

My mom turned 80 yesterday and we took her out to dinner. Coordinating 15 people is not an easy task, but we all made it and had a really nice time! I know mom enjoyed it. I came home and slept for like 12 hours.

Today has been playing catch up on scrappy things, so I’ll share what I’ve been up to!

I’m sitting here listening to it rain, not freezing for a change, and dreading the cold that is coming in later tonight. Such is winter I guess. It was so nice today. Temperatures got up in to the 60’s and even though it was raining, it was wonderful after the long cold spell we had. I just keep telling myself that it’s kind of like childbirth (not quite as painful, but almost), it won’t last forever…every day that goes by is one day closer to spring!

Anyway, enough about the weather. I really just stopped by to share a few of the pages I completed this week while these amazing kits are still on sale!

The Month of Challenges (MOC) is still going strong and everyone is doing such a fantastic job! I’ll come back maybe tomorrow and update all those layouts!

I did finally get my first week of PL done for 2018!! Exciting. I’m switching it up a bit this year to see how I like it and if I can keep caught up! I used Just Jaimee’s Pocket Page Templates for January.

I’m really hoping that this day does turn out to be super fun! We have a special party planned. We found out when my oldest was 12 that he is color blind. It sure explained a lot of the arguments I had with him as a child over his clothes matching and what color the moon was. Part of me felt really bad because all that time I had thought he was just kind of being a pain. The biggest issue it caused for him was when he joined the military and the list of jobs he could do shrank to 3. But, that’s what led him to his life as a Paramedic and teacher. Things do sometimes happen for a reason. Fast forward and he is now 26. For his birthday last June, my husband and I, his dad and stepmom, and my mom all went in together and bought him a gift certificate to get a pair of Enchroma glasses. If you haven’t heard of them, they are supposed to help people who are color blind to see many of the colors they haven’t seen before, or at least see them in all their richness. He ordered them a few weeks ago and they arrived on Tuesday. Today we are all meeting at mom’s for a “color reveal” party. I am so excited for him and I really and truly hope that he is one of the 80% who actually sees a difference! At least they offer a money back guarantee if they don’t work. We’re all looking forward to it.

But, while I have a few minutes, I thought I’d stop by here, share the story, and add a few pages I worked on with some awesome new releases this week.

DYD is happening at The Lilypad! I absolutely love documenting December! This will be my 6th year doing it and it is one of my favorite projects of the year! I’ll talk more about it as December approaches, but I did get my cover done for this year!!

 

Just Jaimee has a super fun kit out this weekend as well – Dogs! This is my sweet baby!

Early Saturday mornings are the best! Quiet, peaceful, just me and my coffee for a couple of hours…heaven. As I was sitting here planning the day, I totally realized that I completely forgot to come and share the pages I made for Simple Scrapper in August and I also need to share the ones for September. So, I’m going to just hit them all right now!!

This is the most dreaded day of the year. The end of summer vacation and the start of a new school year. I do love my kids and what I do, but…. 🙂

I figured I should take some time to come by here and add a few updates. This first week back tends to be rather crazy.

I am also playing along with the Masters of Scrap Competition at Scrapaneers! I in no way expect to win, but I love things like this to challenge my creativity and help me to think outside the box. Here are the layouts that I have done so far:

I was so incredibly thrilled and honored to win 2nd place in the Minimalist Tournament with the last page here!! Two new events will start tomorrow and I’m excited to see what they will be!

And so, tomorrow I start back to work and I am also planning to dive in to Shaun T’s Focus T25 Workout for the next two months! I took my measurements this evening and I will weigh myself at work tomorrow. I’m not necessarily looking to lose weight, but I truly want to get in shape and up my fitness game. I hope that I will have time to post updates on that here as well. I need to take a before picture and I’m really not looking forward to doing that haha. But anyway, until next time… peace, out…

 

Summer vacation is coming to an end. As much as I hate to see it go, there is a part of me that is craving routine! I know things will be hectic and crazy until we get back in to the groove, but at least I will be able to do things on more of a schedule. When I fly by the seat of my pants, a lot of times things are left undone. Like coming here more often ha!

I just thought I’d swing by this morning and share the pages I’ve done the last week or so. The sales have ended but these are still some really amazing designs that you just might not want to miss!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! It’s a pretty quiet one around here so far. We went out to dinner, but that’s about it. I’ve been hanging around, doing a little scrapping and getting caught up on uploads and such. I thought I’d swing by here and share a few things I’ve been working on.
