Sweet Sunday

A day of rest. At least I hope to make it that way! It’s been a busy couple of days. We had C’s end of season pool party with his baseball team on Friday night. They are a really great group of kids and everyone had a blast. The moms that worked to put it together did such a great job and the cake was awesome! There were even little jersey shaped cookies with the kids names and numbers on them.

Yesterday, I spent the day cleaning out two rooms of the house. M had come and picked up her bed for her new house, so her room was a complete disaster. I worked most of the day in there. The next step is to paint her BRIGHT pink walls! I’ve been wanting to do that for years!! And then I’m hoping it will become my new craft room. Today, I think we are headed out for a while to eat and just get away from the house.

But first, I wanted to come by and share a couple more layouts that I worked on for this week. Both use All Year Round: Destinations Collection by Traci Reed and Jady Day Studio at Sweet Shoppe. The first is a pocket style page and the second a more traditional layout (using a retired template by Zoliofrope).

I’m looking forward to using this one again when we go on vacation in a week! I’m so excited!! We didn’t get to go last year for various reasons, but this year I am ready to get out of here for awhile!!

Flashback Friday and Move Forward

Flashback:

I totally missed the whole “Throwback Thursday” thing this week, so I’m going to Flashback on Friday. Seriously, no one will find this quite as amusing as I did, but I’m sharing it anyway. And please ignore the rug.

CaptureIt’s a little hard to see because it was one of those capture it really quick moments. This was 9 years ago, and to this day, every time I make spaghetti I giggle about it. My husband was interfering  being helpful and was going to put the noodles in the pot for me. He opened the box and went to pour them in. Well, I’m a little OCD about how things are done and I always break them before I put them in the pot, and he hadn’t done that. So, as he goes to dump them in, I yell, “WAIT!”. I must have scared the bejeezus out of him because he jumped and slung that box of noodles all over the kitchen! I swear to you, I still giggle every single time I make spaghetti.

And Forward:

I had to take a minute to share that these are the last days for Etc. by Danyale’s sale at Scrap Orchard. So much is going to be gone forever and you just can’t beat these prices. Grab up all the goodness!! And make sure you are following Danyale for all the exciting things that are coming!

Birthdays and Father’s Days and Lazy Days!

Whew.. So we got C’s 10th birthday off without much of a hitch. I thought it was going to rain most of the day, so we set most everything up inside. Fortunately, the rain held off until after the party. I think everyone enjoyed it. The decorations came out pretty cute if I do say so myself ha. I used Papers and Elements by Robyn Meierotto called Play Ball at Pixels and Company:

The water balloon batting practice was the favorite with little kids and big kids alike! We had a pretty low key Father’s Day and ended up just going out to eat. I think we were all worn out!

I was able to get all mostly caught up on my Life in Pockets pages. I still have this past week to do but with Traci Reed’s Pocket Life ’15: June Collection, I did get  two weeks done!

And here I am…

Yep, it’s been awhile. I honestly have thought about coming by every day, and then every day something comes up and this blog just sits. I am working on a few changes to my routine and life that will hopefully help me to become better organized and keep up with this a bit better as well. Streamlining, if you will. School has been out for a week now, and baseball is over as well. I have spent most of this week getting ready for C’s birthday. He has not always had the best of birthdays. My dad and my father-in-law both passed away within the week surrounding his birthday, so I’m trying to make this one a little extra special. There won’t be a lot of people, but I’m hoping he will love it just the same. I’ll share photos when it’s over. Next week, we will get in to the fun stuff, like pool time!

I’m pretty much keeping up with scrapping time as well, and my Life in Pockets is only behind by a week! I do want to share that Etc. by Danyale is closing her shop at SO and is having one fantastic sale! Make sure you get by there and grab up some of her goodies at ridiculously low prices!

FlyThis page is all about the trip that my daughter and I took to San Antonio, TX to see my son graduate from AIT at Fort Sam Houston. It was her first time flying and I only wish I had been able to get a photo of her facial expressions on take off! MomentThis is one of my all time favorite photos of my two boys. It was taken at Easter in 2011. They are the best of friends. For this page I used materials from the Simple Scrapper Premium Membership with Treasured – May 2015 Collection by Pixels and Company.

So, yeah….

It’s that time of year where I am not around much. Work is insane and then add baseball to that. We have been doing baseball 5-6 nights a week and it’s really starting to become draining. I’m not really feeling like I am keeping up with much of anything. But, less than a month from now it will all be over and I’ll wonder where the time went.

I’m not going to add all the layouts I’ve done the last few weeks here. I’ll just upload them to my Scrap Pages and if  you want to have a peek, you’ll find them there. What I did want to share is that two of my favorite designers, as well as two of my favorite people are retiring from design. It makes me very sad that I won’t have new goodies from them to play with regularly, but fortunately I have a great stash from both. I wish them both all the happiness in the world!

First up.. Val of ValC Designs. I’ve been on her creative team for about 3 1/2 years now and I have to say that working with her designs really helped me think outside the box and create some pages that are among my all time favorites. Make sure you check out her awesome sale and grab her gorgeous designs while you can. Image is linked to her store at Oscraps.

Next is Tracy of Tracy Martin Scrapbook Designs. I created with Tracy’s stuff back when I was on the site CT for One Story Down and totally fell in love with her amazing creations. I was over the moon when she asked me to be on her creative team over a year and a half ago. Her kits are among my very favorite of all time and I find myself going back to them over and over!! In Deep…

Well, I’m in it kind of deep this morning. My PC decided to blue screen on me twice in the last couple of days, so I decided it was time for a long over-due reformat. I’ve had this computer for about 2 years and never done a good hard reformat, but I’ve put it off simply because I did not want to got through setting it all back up. Since all baseball stuff was cancelled for the weekend, and I had a bit of time, I figured it was as good a time as any. We are only going to get busier! Now, here I am, deep in re-installation hell!

I figured I would take a minute out and come share layouts for this weekend before I go any further and before I face-palm because there was something I forgot to back up (it always happens).

Ahem….

Yeah, I’ve been away for a bit, but it is that crazy busy time of year. IEP season is in full swing, I’m finishing up work for a class I’ve been taking this semester, and C started baseball. Simply Sharing

Just thought I would take a moment to swing by and share my most recent layouts for Simple Scrapper.  If you have not checked out this community and it’s membership, you are really missing out. Talk about a ton of information, inspiration, and goodies! Not to mention a wonderful group of scrappers who are always quick to support and help.
