One day this space will become habit for me. Just when I think I’m on a roll, life throws a curve ball and I’m behind again. This time it’s for the best of reasons, though. I have a beautiful new grandson! He is absolutely precious and I adore him! I got the call on my way to work last Friday, so we spent the weekend either at the hospital or at football. This week it is raining and chilly, so I am spending some time getting caught up on all the neglected things. Football was cancelled and I was finally able to go get my hair done.

I honestly haven’t decided if there is or not, but I am having fun figuring it out and my planner has really helped me out tremendously. I wanted to do a whole post on this because I did abandon my Heidi Swapp. It’s not that I didn’t like it, I just wanted to try something new.
First, I bought a Big Happy Planner. I was going to buy a Teacher Happy Planner but found the regular planner at a really great price and decided I could modify it to meet my teacher needs and so far it’s been great! I am simply using thin pastel washi tape to split the 3 daily sections in to 6 and I added an information section to the front with class lists, meeting notes, parent contact, etc. I haven’t taken any photos recently, but here is one when I was playing with sectioning it off before school started:
It’s really working out well and I am really loving it. Then I started thinking that maybe I needed the smaller one for my home stuff. Again, trying to justify spending the money. And then I realized that I already have some fantastic calendar pages and inserts in Just Jaimee’s Story Planner Kits!! So, I went on a mission to make my own version of the happy planner! I found some great covers and inserts at Planner Addiction, ordered some discs, and a punch, and got to work.

The full year calendar is a freebie from the MAMBI site and is the inside cover.
I added a Grocery List and Menu Planner insert each week and they are both from Jaimee’s A5 System.
I’m also adding a journal card to each week to note any memories that I might not have room for on the pages. Not pictured is the photo pocket, so that I can add a couple of photos for each week.
I am really loving it so far and printed enough weekly pages to get me through December or January. I’ll try to get some more photos this week of how I have updated things. Happy Planning!! Peace, out…
I feel like I do this a lot and I’m really trying hard not to put myself in a position where I am catching up all the time! But, I can happily say that I am totally caught up on my Life in Pockets!! Now, my plan is to stay that way. I know life has a way of showing up just when I say that, but that’s my plan! I do have to say that I probably wouldn’t be caught up if it were for Just Jaimee’s Ready-to-Go Pocket Page Templates!! They have made it so easy to just pop in photos, add some journaling and be done with it. I have added and replaced some elements here and there with elements from her Storyteller Collections, but it’s been super easy! Seriously, if you are behind like I was, these are the way to go!! I have really come to enjoy the simplicity of Friday. No football practice. No homework. No cooking. No running. Friday evenings have quickly become my favorite! It’s really the only evening of the whole week with nothing to do. So, tonight I thought I would take a minute to share the layouts that I did for Simple Scrapper this month. Staying up to date as much as I can right now 🙂 It will be nice when football season is over and I have my evenings back again. But until I do, I will make the best of it and get here when I can. We spent the afternoon with football games and our team lost pretty badly. I’m not sure what all they are doing wrong, or what they are doing right. Hopefully they will get it all together.

How you have a way of keeping me from blogging hahaha. Yep, I’ve been away for a bit. I think I just needed a break from being at the computer so much. Other than keeping up with my CT obligations and scrolling through FB occasionally, I haven’t been on line all that much. We’ve been doing things in the time before school started, and then there has been football practice…every day, and games, and life. Now that work and school have started, I am trying to get some order and organization in my life and coming here, I hope, will be a part of it. I’m not going to post all the pages that I’ve done over the last few weeks, but I have updated My Scrap Pages with all of them and I hope to have my Life in Pockets updated by tomorrow. I still have a couple of weeks to catch up on there. I also have some planner updates to share and what I hope will be #plannerpeace. Maybe.
I am going to share my latest layouts and then hopefully from here on out I’ll be back on a more regular schedule…and with some other things, too.

Yeah, summer is still happening here. Football practice started right after my last post and it is two hours a day, every day. It seems like we no sooner get up, get chores done, and eat, then it’s time to head out to practice. Such is the life. I have two more weeks of summer vacation and I already see the days filling up with things that need to be done. I’m determined that we will squeeze some fun in there! But I’m not going to dilly-dally here. I’m just going to drop off some pages so you can see what I’ve been up to and the gorgeousness from my amazing designers and then I’m off to bed to start all over tomorrow.

What happened was…summer. I’m feeling like I haven’t been very productive, but I have managed to clean out a few rooms and do some fun things. C and I ended up taking off for the beach, just the two of us. R was hoping for a phone call about a new job and didn’t want to leave, so since it would be the only chance for us to go because of football starting, C and I jumped in the car about mid-week and took off for a few days. It was really nice to spend some time together and do a lot of the things that he and I like to do. Since we’ve been back, I’ve just been catching up on some things around the house and hitting the pool and a few baseball games. And we’ve been playing a lot of Pokemon Go! It’s about to get crazy here again, so I’m not sure that productivity will happen this summer ha. Football practice starts tomorrow, I have to go in to work on Thursday, and I need to start doing some pre-work stuff before school starts.
I haven’t even scrapped all that much, but here are the pages I have managed to get done 🙂

I’ve finally found a little motivation and have been doing some cleaning out and purging around the house. I hate taking the time to do it, but it feels so good to get rid of junk and de-clutter!! I’ve done 3 rooms now and today I worked on the out building, sweeping and cleaning. Now to just finish the rest of the house!!

So, in an attempt to do a little more with my blog beyond just advertising the fabulous designers I work for and showing off my scrapbook pages and occasional crafts, I’d like to trying just writing about random things. No specific topics right now, I’m still working on that. But in the meantime, I’m picking up some daily prompts that just encourage me to write. Maybe other ideas will come to me and maybe they won’t. We’ll see. For now I’m just taking it one day at a time, like everything else.
The prompts are coming from The Daily Post and today’s prompt is Darkness. The first thing that came to my mind is the song Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel.
Hello darkness, my old friend

Wow, does this song speak to me right now. So many walking around in darkness, not really even seeing or hearing each other…listening, connecting. Garfunkel once said the song is about “the inability of people to communicate with each other, not particularly internationally but especially emotionally, so what you see around you are people unable to love each other”. The “neon gods”, the tv, the media, celebrities, and material things…so many listening without really hearing, talking without really speaking. This song is 50+ years old. Can things change? Will they?
I know lots of people are hating on Disturbed’s cover of the song, but I’m really digging it.
