Ever get sucked down them? I sure do! Just about every time I sit down at the computer to do one thing, I’m off on adventures looking up a thousand different things! And that’s why I never seem to get here like I intend to! I swear, I can be going to upload a layout and next thing I know I’m looking at phone cases or reading about missing people or any other random things, but I never remember how I got there haha.
But anyway, I just wanted to pop in tonight and share some amazing new releases out this weekend and get caught up on posting my MOC layouts!

River~Rose has a lovely new kit out called Two Hearts today that I used for 2 pages of my kiddos. The first uses an older template – Mix it Up Vol 2 – by Crystal Livesay, and the second uses a brand new template – Shapin’ Up: February by Crystal Livesay and Jimbo Jambo Designs.

Fridays don’t mean a whole heck of a lot on summer vacation, but well, it’s still Friday 🙂 Just got finished updating my Scrap Pages and man, there was some gorgeous stuff to play with this week. Credits are attached to all of them so you can find all the goodness!! I am almost caught up on Project Life. I have to do last week’s page and this week over the weekend. I’ll get that updated in the next day or so.
Summer is quickly winding down. The schools here in this area have already gone back, so I am glad that I teach down the road a bit! We have several things going on the next few days. I go with A and C to Roanoke tomorrow to get their tuxes for the wedding. THAT should be interesting. I told C that on Monday we would head to Pipestem State Park and go horseback riding. He has never been on one, so that should be interesting, too! We also need to get in a few more pool trips before the summer is over! I have to go to work on Wed of next week for some training…yuck! I finally got my hair done yesterday after 7 months and it feels so much better!
I shared a fun pic on Facebook for Throwback Thursday yesterday, so I thought I would share it here as well. I miss my dad.
This was taken in 1996 at Smith Mountain Lake, VA. My parents owned a condo there and we spent a lot of time in the summers at that place. Yes, this is what my dad liked to do for fun – hang my children from curtain rods LOL He was the best!
I’m out of here for now. It’s a rainy day and I have some errands to run. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
It’s amazing how quickly these days go by! I haven’t accomplished a great deal, but we are enjoying the time, so I guess that’s what matters! I did get a bit of a start on the project that I mentioned in THIS POST. I’m not sure it’s turning out exactly the way I hoped it would, so I’m making a few changes to it. I think I will do a couple of benches to set in different places on the deck, instead of one long one. I think it will turn out much better. I was able to get the pallets and have them cut. Now, I just need to paint them and add some cute cushions. Â We also spent one day at the pool and of course, yard work has been on the agenda several days. I keep waiting on a rainy day to get some things done in the house, but we haven’t had any haha. I’m not going to complain too much, because last summer all it did was rain.
The last few days have been spent getting ready for C’s birthday. We are having a small family party tomorrow and he is in the process of picking out somewhere he would like to go for his birthday as well. I’m off to pick up cake and supplies tomorrow and one more gift that I haven’t picked up yet. Hard to believe my baby will be 9. One more year of single digits.
In the scrappy world, there are so absolutely fabulous new releases this week. If you haven’t been out and about in the the stores, you really should go…now! Here are the layouts I’ve done this week for the amazing ladies who allow me to be on their teams:

I am on summer vacation! Woot! It started about 3 days ago and I’ve pretty much been a sloth. Sometimes it takes a bit of adjusting to go from 900 mph to 0. Here are a few of the things that I’ve learned on my summer vacation so far:
1. My dog does not understand the concept and is going to have to be convinced that waking me up at 5-something is no longer necessary.
2. The rice trick for cell phones that have gotten wet really does work (not that I would drop one in the toilet or anything hehe).
3. Riding mowers are nice, but pushing is much better exercise! *Note to self – get riding mower fixed*
4. Driving the long way to Beckley to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings is not so bad…and saves $$!Â
So far, so good, right?
I’ve also managed to get the lattice under the deck fixed from aforementioned dog tearing it up…for the second time. And I have not given up on the pallet deck furniture that I am hoping to put together. M’s boyfriend is supposed to bring his truck up here on Saturday and help me go on a pallet hunt. But I am also babysitting my granddaughter, so not sure what the day will hold. I’m thinking movie time for her and C. R will be sleeping, so I need to find some way to keep them quiet haha.
I have been doing quite a bit of scrapping the last few days as well. And I am only one week behind on my Project Life pages! I have updated that page with the most recent. There is so much goodness in the stores this week. The designers never cease to amaze me! Check out some of this gorgeous stuff:

At the end of the day tomorrow, it will officially be summer vacation! Can’t I get a WooHooo! In case you didn’t know, teachers are wayyy more excited about it than the students ha! The last couple of weeks have been kind of crazy, hence my lack of posting, but I’m going to try to do some catching up. Two of the three children have had birthdays come and go. AÂ turned 23 *gasp* and MÂ turned 19. How in God’s name do I have children who are so old? We went out to dinner on both occasions, only a few days late on the oldest because he was away with National Guard duties. In addition to that my granddaughter graduated from Kindergarten and also had a dance recital that we’ve attended. Check out my instagram if you want to see photos of any of the above.
Before I get to sharing scrapping stuff, I just have to take a minute to confess a parenting fail. I was watching Forrest Gump last night with M and her boyfriend and it came to the part where Forrest is on the Dick Cavett Show with John Lennon. BF (who is 20) says, “What did John Lennon do?”, to which M replied, “Wasn’t he in a band or something?”. Where did I go wrong that my children do not know The Beatles. As someone said in a comment to me on Facebook, guess they weren’t more popular than Jesus after all.
Ok…on to scrappy business. I am so totally stoked. I have just recently acquired 2 guest spots that I am over the moon about. One is for Scooty’s Designs at Pickleberry Pop. If you haven’t seen her stuff, you must check it out! And the other is for Little Butterfly Wings at The Lily Pad. Omgosh, I have been a fan of hers for soooo long. Â You’ll see pages with their stuff in my long list of layouts, since I am so far behind. And hopefully I’ll get all caught up on Project Life in the next few days.
