I told myself I wasn’t going to go in to anything political here on this blog, but with the historical events of yesterday, I just can’t help but make a few comments š I do not consider myself either democrat or republican. I do consider myself fairly well educated and informed. I have read and researched a great deal. I was a registered republican for many years simply because it was family tradition, but as I got older I found that there were things I agreed/disagreed with on both sides and to define myself as one or the other just doesn’t make sense! I will never understand those that vote party lines no matter what. But I digress. Am I happy about the new president? Yep…I wish him all the best and hope that he is the best president we have ever had…I wish that of all who take that oath! I think President Obama has the potential to be a great leader. There are many things I really like about him and agree with totally. Do I have concerns! Yep, you bet! Some things that worry me……universal health care, redistribution of wealth, government being wayyy too involved in our lives, a few other things. I believe we are all responsible for our own lives and need to take responsibility for them, no more blaming and making excuses for mistakes we made. I’ve made my fair share before, but when I was in credit card trouble, home trouble, etc. I didn’t blame the credit card or mortgage companies. But just as I take responsibility for the mistakes I made, so should those big businesses who also made foolish mistakes! Ok…my two cents LOL Who did I vote for in the election……ahhhhhhhh Not telling…and that is my right! š Did I have issues with McCain, too? Yep, I did…but that’s a moot point now. I do have to add that I am appalled at the blantant disrespect shown to our former president! Fine to disagree with things that were done…but the flat out disrespect that I have seen and heard toward the PRESIDENT OF OUR COUNTRY is horrendous! The plain and simple fact is, the president does not act alone….there are many that need to take responsibility for the state of our country. We have checks and balances for a reason. But no matter what happens, I cannot fathom being disprectful to the president, regardless of who he is. Ok…. there it is… in a nutshell of sorts and very much the tip of the iceberg as far as my thoughts and feelings on everything…and it’s my opinion, agree or disagree with me, that is your right š Have a wonderful day and here’s to a new day!!
Just dropped by to say morning and to read what you had to say about the President…I agree with what you said…I know that I’m not one who really follows what is what but there is alot of things that need to be taken care of fast…>((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))

AMEN Sister!!! I agree with you totally. Thanks for putting this out there, you ROCK. And thanks for pointing out the disrespect that is being shown for the outgoing President. He didn’t do it all alone (though they would all like us to think he did). I’ll be watching to see what happens now. Blessings.

It’s funny how a few years, kids, mortgages, and just general life will make you realize that our responsibilities continue outside our front door. It will be amusing to watch people understand that the new President will be getting advice from some of the same people, but will probably construed differently. Take care, chick!
